Who We Are
First Baptist Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.
Our Mission
To produce fully devoted followers of Jesus, who love God and people!
We believe that God’s glory is the #1 priority of our corporate and individual lives. [I Chron 16:28-29, Ps 19:1, Rom 16:25-27, I Cor 10:31, Eph 1:11-14]
We believe that the local church plays an indispensable role in God's plan for mankind, and that any significant achievements made in this plan will be done in total dependence on God's ability. [Mt 16:18; Rom 8:28; Eph 1:22-23 & 3:10-11 &20; 1 Tim 3:14-15]
We believe that because lost people matter to God, reaching out to them with the gospel ought to be a high priority for individual believers and the church. [Mt 9:35-38 & 28:19-20, Lk 5:30-32 & 15, 2 Pet 3:9]
We believe that excellence in all areas of ministry not only honors God, but also inspires people. [Prov 27:17, Mal 1:6-14, Col 3:17 & 23]
We believe that loving relationships and a sincere desire for unity should permeate every aspect of church life. [Jn 13:34-35 & 17:11-23, 1 Cor 13, Eph 4:1-6]
We believe that anointed teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individuals' lives and in the church. [Rom 12:7, 2 Tim 3:16-17, Jms 1:23-25]
We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. [1 Cor 8 & 9:19-23] We believe that all of Christ-followers should manifest authenticity, yearn for continuous growth, and be fully devoted to Christ and His cause. [2 Cor 8:7, Eph 4:25-27 & 32, Phil 1:6 & 2:1-13, Heb 12:1-2]
We believe that a church should operate as a community of servants, led by Godly men and women, with everyone being faithful stewards of their spiritual and financial gifts. [Mk 9:35, Rom 12, 1 Cor 12 & 14, 2 Cor 9:6-7, Eph 4 & 5:21] We believe that life-change happens best in small communities. [Mt 3:16-17, Lk 6:12-13, Acts 2:44, 1 Jn 4:21]
Our Vision
Embracing Community
We believe the church exists to serve and be a part of our community not just be in the community. All our ministries point to sharing the love and grace of Jesus Christ in every way possible to our community.
Loving People
We are a church that loves people. We don't believe in placing labels on people. We are all on a journey with God and each of our stories and backgrounds look different. We choose to see the potential God sees in each of us. We believe God has a plan for everyone and God loves us all right where we are.
Changing Culture
We don't want to be a part of pop culture, we seek to be a church in our community that helps create and change culture for the better by investing in people and our community's needs in every aspect of life: physical, spiritual and emotional. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the change.
